The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Panabo refers to the sole LTO office in Panabo City, Davao del Norte: the LTO Panabo District Office (DO). Just like the other LTO branches in the country, the LTO Panabo office was created so the agency can offer fast, convenient, accessible, and affordable LTO services to the people of Panabo City. It also serves as the office in charge of monitoring and regulating the local and visiting drivers, car owners, and operators, as well as the vehicle use and the entire land transport service in Panabo City and its geographical area of responsibility (GAOR). Plus, it helps the LTO keep its presence felt by the local land transport sector. With this office, the LTO also ensures that its core programs reach the people—both drivers and pedestrians—whom they want to keep safe.
Panabo is known as an agro-industrial city and the “Banana Capital of the Philippines.” It houses numerous banana plantations, including the world’s biggest banana plantation, which is owned by the Tagum Agricultural Development Company (TADECO). The city itself cultivated 40% of its land or around 10,000 hectares into planting export-quality Cavendish bananas, making banana cultivation and exportation the main economic lifeblood of the city.
