Video: Visiting the LTO Quezon City Extension Office in Novaliches

Just like any government offices nationwide, the LTO Novaliches offices were created to make the LTO services easier, faster, more affordable, and more accessible to the public, especially to those residing in and around Novaliches Proper.

Join J Ride TV and learn about the process as well as the requirements and costs of renewing a driver’s license at the LTO Novaliches District Office by watching this video:

Where is Novaliches

Novaliches, officially known as Novaliches Proper, is what many people believed to be Metro Manila’s 11th city that never was. It is a place that forms the northern areas of Quezon City and encompasses the whole area of North Caloocan. In 1998, Novaliches almost became an independent city with 15 barangays as a fitting Centennial gift by virtue of Republic Act No. 8535 which was signed by former President Fidel V. Ramos. Unfortunately, it failed to be ratified by the people of Quezon City, as the local government unit of Quezon City, starting from the mayor to the city officials refused to allow Novaliches its independence. The Quezon City government refused to fund the ratification procedures, and when it was finally funded, the procedures involved the entire Quezon City population. Though the ratification procedures for Novaliches got the highest votes in Philippine history, it failed to meet the required number, which caused Novaliches to retain its status as a barangay of Quezon City. To this date, Novaliches remains to be one of the barangays of Quezon City, one of the most populous second congressional district in Metro Manila.

In terms of geography, Novaliches lies on the northernmost and westernmost fringes of Quezon City, bordered by Valenzuela City, North Caloocan City, and San Jose del Monte City. The barangay, Novaliches Proper, shares a common border with barangays Nagkaisang Nayon, Quezon City, San Agustin, Quezon City, Gulod, Quezon City, Kaligayahan, Quezon City, and Santa Monica, Quezon City.

Google Map Location

Novaliches Proper, as a barangay located in the populous Quezon City, is easily accessible, either through public and private transport routes. It is also easy to reach if you’re driving your own vehicle, or if you are taking the public transport which is readily available in the area.
