The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Sarangani refers to the set of two (2) LTO offices based in the province of Sarangani: the LTO Sarangani District Office (DO) and the LTO E-Patrol Unit in Maasim, Sarangani. Like the other LTO branches in the Philippines, the LTO Sarangani offices were created so the agency can offer fast, convenient, accessible, and affordable LTO services to the people. With the LTO office in the poor province of Sarangani, the government makes it easier to monitor and regulate the local and visiting drivers, car owners, and operators, as well as the official vehicle use and the entire land transport service in the area and within its geographical area of responsibility (GAOR). The agency, through these branch offices, also makes its presence felt in the local land transport sector, and ensures that its core programs and services reach the people—both drivers and pedestrians in the province of Sarangani—whom they want to keep safe.
The province of Sarangani is more widely known for being the the hometown of the eight division Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao. It is, however, also the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, thanks to the rich marine biodiversity in the area. The province of Sarangani is in a unique position, allowing it to marshal its resources, entice tourists and investors, to compete in an international market under a borderless trade regime, making it an ideal location for a local branch of government offices like the LTO.
What is LTO Sarangani?
LTO Sarangani refers to the two (2) LTO offices stationed in the southernmost tip of Mindanao island: the LTO Sarangani District Office (DO) and the LTO E-Patrol Unit in Maasim, Sarangani. These LTO offices serve as the frontliner of the Central Office, allowing it to offer the various LTO programs and services in the local area and within the reach of the local transacting public of the province. It is through these offices that the LTO brings its core programs and services as an agency, consequently making them available and accessible to the locals who need them, particularly those who work behind the wheels.
LTO Sarangani District Office (DO)
As the only LTO district office in Sarangani, the LTO Sarangani District Office (DO) serves as the primary go-to office for both the locals and the visiting drivers, car owners, and operators when filing for documents necessary for their compliance with the LTO rules and requirements. This district office also offers cheaper and better LTO services, bringing closer the activities and campaigns of the Secretariat while maintaining a safe spot to watch over the people and their safety on the road without having them spend so much time and money to do so.
LTO E-Patrol Unit – Maasim, Sarangani
The LTO E-Patrol Unit stationed in Maasim, Sarangani is yet another way that the LTO offers its services in the area. It is a one-stop-shop where one can process emission testing, insurance and drug testing. It was created to accommodate requests from the local government units (LGUs) and offer services like the issuance of student permits, renewal of motor vehicle registration, renewal of driver’s license and printing of five-year driver’s license cards via the E-Patrol Bus.
