The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6, otherwise known as the Western Visayas Region, is just one of the regional divisions of the Secretariat. Like the LTO Central Office, the LTO Region 6 regional office was created with the intention of managing and overseeing the different local LTO agencies within its territorial jurisdiction. In turn, these LTO agencies in Region 6 were tasked with carrying out the projects and enforcing the LTO rules, regulations, and policies in the region. The LTO Western Visayas regional office, along with its LTO agencies, was created not only so it could bring the agency closer to the people, but also to make it easier for both the public and the agency to maintain a safe, efficient, convenient, and economical land transport service for the residents and visitors in the area.
Region 6 (Western Visayas) is home to the world-renowned beach of Boracay, and some of the country’s top festivals — Dinagyang, MassKara, and Ati-Atihan. It is also one of the richest regions in the country in terms of natural resources, occupying the western section of the Visayas. Its regional center is in Iloilo, which houses the regional office of the LTO. It also houses the other historical landmarks, quaint beaches and islands, heritage homes, plus tasty and unique cuisine, effectively making it a favored spot in the region, both to private corporations and government agencies alike.
What is LTO Region 6?
Western Visayas Region, officially designated as Region 6, is an administrative region in the Philippines. It is home to six different provinces: Aklan, Antique, Negros Occidental, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo. These provinces, in turn, house different LTO agencies within its jurisdiction and these agencies are what is collectively known as LTO Region 6 (LTO Western Visayas Region).
The regional seat of power is in Iloilo City, which is well-known as the “Heart of the Philippines” and the “Most Loyal and Noble City.” It also serves as the capital city of the province of Iloilo. Because of this, the LTO also set up its LTO Western Visayas regional office in the same city, which makes for excellent traffic.
