Where is Naga City

Naga, officially known as the City of Naga or the Pilgrim City of Naga, is a first class independent component city situated along the Bicol River, south of San Miguel Bay, in the Bicol Region of the Philippines. Not to be with Naga in Cebu, Naga City, Camarines Sur is also known as the “Queen City of Bicol,” thanks to its historical significance in the Bicol Region. It is also tagged as the “Heart of Bicol,” thanks, in part, to its strategic location on the center of the Bicol Peninsula. Naga is also well-known as “One of the Seven Golden Cities of the Sun” thanks to Filipino writer and journalist, Nick Joaquín.

Geographically, Naga City in Camarines Sur is located 16 kilometers (9.9 mi) from Pili and 383 kilometers (238 mi) southeast of the capital city of Manila, near the center of the Bicol Region. It is surrounded on all sides by forests and by rich agricultural and fishing areas. All of Naga’s 84.48 km² is located on the serpentine and historic Naga River, at the confluence of the Naga and Bikol rivers, making it an ideal place for trade and for schools, church, and government offices.

Getting in and around Naga City is easy as there are available intra-city public transport services which includes public-utility jeepneys (PUJ), multicabs, trimobiles, and padyak. Also available are filcab vans, air conditioned and non air conditioned buses, and taxi service. The city is served by the Naga Airport (WNP) in San Jose and by the Philippine National Railway’s Bicol Line, Bicol Express.
