What is LTO Dapa 

LTO Dapa refers to the lone LTO office stationed in the Municipality of Dapa in Siargao Islands, Surigao del Norte: the LTO Dapa District Office (DO). This office serves as the frontline agency of the LTO Central Office in the local area of Dapa, offering different LTO programs and services to the Surigaonons within the island of Siargao. It also helps the LTO connect with the Surigaonons in the area, by bringing closer the core LTO programs and services and making them more accessible and more affordable to those who need them, particularly the locals who work behind the wheels and in the land transport sector.

As the only LTO district office in the Municipality of Dapa in Siargao Island, the LTO Dapa District Office (DO) used to be an extension office before it was converted into a regular district office by virtue of Republic Act No. 10391. It was created to offer a more convenient alternative to visiting the main LTO offices, especially for the local drivers, car owners, and operators who wish to acquire the required documentation and comply with the LTO requirements. The Dapa District Office also helps communicate the agency’s desire to make it simpler for the drivers and operators to join LTO-initiated activities and participate in LTO-related campaigns towards road safety in the Siargao Islands.

Where is Dapa

Dapa, officially known as the Municipality of Dapa, is a fourth class municipality in the province of Surigao del Norte. It lies south of Siargao Island, 36 nautical miles east of Surigao City and a few nautical miles from the famous Philippine Deep. It is located closest to Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, Tandag, Surigao del Sur, Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte, Butuan and Bayugan, Agusan del Sur, and Maasin, Southern Leyte. Most of Dapa is situated in Siargao Island, but Middle Bucas Grande and East Bucas Grande Islands are also within its jurisdiction. It is bounded by General Luna in the east, by Pilar and Del Carmen in the north, by Dapa Channel in the west, by Socorro and the Philippine Sea in the south.
