The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Bislig refers to the lone LTO office based in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur: the LTO Bislig District Office (DO). Like the other LTO branches in the Philippines, the LTO Bislig District Office (DO) was also created so the agency can offer fast, convenient, accessible, and affordable LTO services to the people. With the LTO office in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, the agency can better monitor and regulate the local and visiting drivers, car owners, and operators, as well as the vehicle use on public roads and the entire land transport service in Bislig City and its geographical area of responsibility (GAOR). The LTO, through this branch office, also maintains its presence as a regulatory force in the local land transport sector and ensures that its core programs and services reach the Surigaonon drivers, operators, and pedestrians whom they want to keep safe.
Famously known for its ecotourism, Bislig’s main attraction is the little “Niagara Falls” of the Philippines—the Tinuy-an Falls of Bislig. It is also home to astonishing white-sand beaches, some of which directly faces a part of the Pacific Ocean, underground rivers, cold springs, wild sanctuaries, and a wide range of parks for picnics and fishing purposes. Because of these attractions, Bislig has the potential to become the center not only for tourism, but also for heavy industries and small and medium scale factories. Its surrounding agricultural and forest areas and rich fishing grounds can provide raw materials for various industries, including food processing, furniture, and construction. The huge potential for development is enough reason for the city to host local government offices like the LTO and allow it to showcase its incredible public service.
