LTO NCR – National Capital Region

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) National Capital Region (NCR) is one of the thirteen (13) regional divisions of the agency. Just like all the other LTO offices, it was created to maintain safe, efficient, comfortable, and economical land transport service for the transacting public in the region that houses the country’s capital city, Manila.

As an LTO regional division, LTO National Capital Region (NCR) is a bit different from the other regional offices as it is divided into two subregions, LTO NCR East and LTO NCR West. These two, however, works exactly the same way as the other LTO offices, offering the same excellent and quality public service and conducting the same activities geared towards better economic, industrial and social development. To learn more about the LTO NCR Region, its subregions, and the LTO offices and cities within, keep reading this guide.

Where is NCR

The National Capital Region (NCR) also refers to Metropolitan Manila or Metro Manila, is the capital region of the Philippines. It is the seat of most national government offices and is located in the southwestern portion of Luzon. It is one of three defined metropolitan areas in the country and is composed of sixteen (16) highly urbanized cities (HUCs) including the city of Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela, as well as the municipality of Pateros.

Aside from hosting the headquarters of many national government offices, NCR is also the country’s center for international diplomacy as it hosts all of the embassies in the Philippines. It is also the country’s premiere center of culture (including arts and entertainment), economy, education, and government. Designed to be a global power city, the region exerts a significant impact on commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, both locally and internationally.

With a population of over 13.4 million, NCR is the second most populous and the most densely populated region in the country.  It is also the 9th most populous metropolitan area in Asia and the 5th most populous urban area in the world.

The region lies along the flat alluvial and deltaic plains that drains the Pasig River and the Laguna de Bay, with its territory extending eastward and up the rolling hills of Marikina Valley until at the low-lying edges of the Rizal province. NCR is bounded by the fertile plains of Central Luzon in the north, the sweeping Sierra Madre Mountains in the east, and the Laguna de Bay in the south. Manila Bay, on the other hand, spreads out on the west side, providing a great canvass for the famed sunsets of Manila.

Google Map Location

Because NCR is central to most activities, be it related to culture, economy, education, and government, the transportation sector of the region is pretty much well-developed, making it easy to go in and around the region either by private car or via public transport. There are numerous buses, vans, and jeepneys with different travel routes, making land travel convenient in and around the city.

What are LTO Unsettled Violations and Fines?

Unsettled or outstanding violations refer to traffic infractions or offenses that have not been resolved, paid for, or addressed yet. These can include various types of traffic violations such as speeding, illegal parking, reckless driving, failure to wear seat belts, and more. When a violation is unsettled, it means that the necessary actions to resolve it, such as paying fines or attending required courses, have not been completed just yet. If you have unsettled violations, it is important for you to address them sooner rather than later to avoid accumulating additional penalties, demerit points, or legal consequences such as license suspension or revocation.

Unsettled violations can be checked online via the LTMS portal. It appears under the Dashboard menu option labeled Violations. Other options include Demerit Points and Transaction History as well. The fact that the list of unsettled violations under your name appears online in the LTMS portal simply means that the agency is making it even more accessible for you to do something about the violations without requiring you to spend too much time, effort, and money to resolve it. Having said that, there really is no more reason to fall behind on your dues, especially if you wish to be able to keep using your driver’s license until the day it expires or is replaced.

Checking for unsettled traffic violations online via the LTO portal is important for staying informed about any outstanding infractions linked to your driver’s license or vehicle registration. By doing so, you can proactively address these violations, preventing the accumulation of additional penalties, demerit points, or legal consequences such as license suspension. Ultimately, monitoring unsettled violations helps ensure compliance with traffic laws and promotes responsible driving behavior.
